How pairing Reiki with microdosing psilocybin can take you even deeper into healing

Updated: May 19, 2023

Reiki is a holistic healing technique that has been used for centuries to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It is based on the principle that energy flows through the body and when that energy is blocked, it can lead to physical and emotional imbalances. Reiki practitioners use their hands to channel energy to remove these blockages, allowing the body to heal itself.

Microdosing psilocybin, a naturally occurring psychedelic compound found in certain mushrooms, has gained significant attention in recent years due to its reported therapeutic effects. While the idea of taking a small amount of a hallucinogenic substance might seem counterintuitive to healing, a growing body of research suggests that microdosing psilocybin can have a positive impact on mental health and well-being.

Before diving into the science behind microdosing psilocybin, it's important to understand what microdosing is. Essentially, microdosing involves taking a very small amount of a substance, typically one-tenth to one-twentieth of a regular dose, in order to experience its benefits without any major side effects or psychoactive effects. In the case of psilocybin, microdosing involves taking a small amount of dried and ground up mushrooms.

So, how does microdosing psilocybin scientifically heal? Let's take a closer look at the research.

1. Reducing anxiety and depression

One of the most well-known benefits of microdosing psilocybin is its ability to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. A 2018 study published in the journal Frontiers in Psychiatry found that microdosing psilocybin led to significant improvements in the mood and well-being of participants, as well as a reduction in symptoms of anxiety and depression. Another study from 2019 found that microdosing psilocybin was effective in reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety in patients with major depressive disorder.

2. Improving creativity and focus

Microdosing psilocybin has also been shown to have positive effects on creativity and focus. A 2019 study published in the Journal of Psychoactive Drugs found that microdosing psilocybin led to increased creativity, as well as improved focus and productivity. Participants reported feeling more open-minded and able to think outside the box, which could be beneficial for problem-solving and creative pursuits.

3. Promoting neuroplasticity

Neuroplasticity refers to the brain's ability to change and adapt in response to new experiences and stimuli. Microdosing psilocybin has been shown to promote neuroplasticity, which could have positive effects on mental health and cognitive function. A 2017 study published in the journal Experimental Brain Research found that microdosing psilocybin led to increased neuroplasticity in the hippocampus, a region of the brain involved in learning.

When these two practices are combined, the results can be truly transformative. Reiki can help to remove energy blockages and promote healing on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level, while micro dosing can help to enhance the effects of Reiki and take the healing process even deeper.

The use of micro dosing can help to deepen the client's experience, allowing them to connect more fully with their own inner wisdom and intuition.

It can help to alleviate anxiety and depression, two common conditions that can be exacerbated by blocked energy. By removing these blockages, Reiki can help to promote a sense of calm and relaxation, while micro dosing can help to reduce anxiety and improve mood.

Overall, the combination of Reiki and micro dosing can be a powerful tool for healing and personal growth. It is important to note, however, that this practice should only be undertaken with the guidance and supervision of a trained Reiki practitioner.
